Delilah sighed happily as she and Remus finally reached their destination. She didn't mind the walking, of course, it was a beautiful night and sometimes sneaking out was a bit of a thrill. But now Remus held her hand tightly and protectively. Dell suddenly felt like there was no point to living if they couldn't be together. It was what, magic? Some people called it love, but whatever you call it Delilah knew she had it bad for her werewolf best friend.
Stopping at the edge of the lake, Delilah stuck her tongue out at him briefly before wriggling out of his grasp and dashing into the lake that was only a little bit chilly. She dipped under for a moment, then surfaced, laughing as her hair briefly turned the same color as the water before turning back to normal damp blonde. She knew it wouldn't be long before her boyfriend was in after her.

Remus jumped in after her, just like Delilah thought he would. He swam over to her. "You're gunna get eaten by the giant squid one of these days," he said, holding on to her in a hug...in water. He smiled at her, and kissed her on the lips, pulling away soon after. He didn't want anything to happen to her, but the way she was, it was going to be a challenge to keep her safe. Especially if she ventured off after him one of these nights. Remus was pale under the moon. Since it was so close to full, he'd get paler more often than usual. He knew that she had probably already seen his paleness, which made him less worried that she'd be worried about him.

Delilah simply chuckled at his worry and tucked her nose into the crook of his neck as he hugged her. "I will not!" she protested, her short, lithe body shaking with laughter as she huddled closed to him. "I doubt that ugly thing eats people, Remus." He was kissing her then, briefly, and she kissed him back, laughing lightly. When he stepped away, she frowned at how pale he was, even though she was used to it by now. She touched his face briefly and frowned a bit. "Are you going to be okay? Until the full moon, that is..."

"Of course I'm going to be okay. It's just what happens," he said, reassuring her. He kissed her again, and kept holding on to her. He didn't want to let her go, at all. It was just something that Remus did. He was very protective, and well, sorta clingy too. Hopefully that wouldn't be his downfall though. He looked at her. "Why do you love me?" he asked, totally serious. He didn't think anyone could love him with his condition, especially if she got hurt. He wouldn't be able to live with it if he did hurt her.

Delilah was a bit taken aback by his question, but she had no problem answering it. The list could go on forever, but she decided on a shorter version, one that she knew he needed to her. The short girl kissed him gently under the chin, smiling lightly, still holding onto him. "I love you because you're Remus." she told him genuinely. "Because you're sweet and strong and kind and smart." Dell chuckled lightly and kissed him, briefly. The metamorphagus wiggled out of his grasp again and dove back into the water, it was deeper now. After a moment she surfaced and smiled, tossing her wet hair out of her face. "Can you doggy paddle?" she called with a joking twinkle in her eye, laughing.

He smiled at the girl, returning her kiss. Then he said, answering her quesiton, "Depends. What would do if I was drowning?" He gave her a small smirk, and went underwater, not waiting for a response. He didn't resurface. He wanted to wait til he needed air. So, he could possible be under a while, for he took in a lot of air.

Delilah rolled her eyes as Remus's response, and simply watched him as he went underwater. Such a typical male... With a light chuckle, Dell pushed herself over toward him, knowing he was just trying to get her going, knowing soon he'd pop up and she'd see the face she loved so dearly, smiling at her...
Something brushed against her leg and Delilah rolled her eyes again. How stupid did he think she was? "Oh no, that isn't Remus, it must be something terrible!" she called sarcastically. Turning, Delilah instantly stopped talking because she had been wrong. Oh, so terribly wrong. That wasn't Remus at all. Remus wasn't nearly as dangerous.

Remus had been under water for a while. When he was about to resurface, he found out he couldn't. Something was holding him under, and he was trying his hardest to break free. He wriggled, and moved, but the thing had such a tight grasp on him. He needed help, but how does he get Delilah's attention? Losing air, he tries to reach for her, but the thing touches her first. He can't reach her either. If she doesn't help him, this could be the end of Remus as we know him.

Before Delilah could even utter a scream, the squid had one of its large tentacles coiled around her leg and had yanked her underwater. Blinking hurriedly, Delilah tried to see through the murky water but could barely make anything out, especially in the dark. So this is why it was prohibited to swim after sundown! Dell would have to remember that later.
Though the stupid thing had an iron grip on the metamorphagus, she struggled and felt around, hoping that Remus may be nearby. Soon enough, her fingertips brushed against his and she managed to grasp his hand briefly to show that she was close to him. He'd been under for quite some time and she knew she'd have to help him soon. Yanking her wand out of her robe pocket (thank Merlin she'd remembered to bring it) Delilah shot a red jet of Flippendo at the squid, repelling it slightly. Its grip loosened a bit, enough for Delilah to push Remus toward the surface and take a gulp of air herself. But her victory was short lived as the giant thing grabbed her once more and yanked her under with more force than she had thought possible.
