When someone said the word Sirius Black to you, would you think intense womaniser, or sensitive romantic? Most people would think the former. And, to be honest, they would be close to the truth. Because he was. He would go with any girl, but not because he was a man-slut. It was because he thought no one would really like him.
Today, he was alone. On a cliff. No, he wasn't going to hurt himself, he was just sitting. There was nothing better to do. He had wound up James and Riley, so their company wouldn't be the best. Remus was in the library, and no way was he going there. He despised the place. And Wormtail. Well he had no idea where the midget was. Most likely hanging of the arm of his latest idol.
His green shirt ruffled in the wind, as he leaned over to pick up another stone, throwing it into the lake. It was safe today, as the Squid was asleep. He could tell, as he wasn't getting any water spurted at him for throwing stones.
"There's nothing to do!" He exclaimed, laying on his back, and staring up into the sun. Sure, it would hurt his eyes, but he didn't care. He counted the number of bird flying past, and decided to have a little fun. Pulling his wand out from under his robes, he launched one of the small pebble like stones into the air, levitating it, to make it fly higher. He was aiming for the birds. Yeah, he was a nice guy, but those things crap on people! That was his reasoning for using them as target practise.

Haley was walking by the black lake when she heard someone scream "There's nothing to do!" She walked over to the lake, and saw that Sirius Black, a fellow Gryffindor, was sitting by the lake. She walked over to him, and while he was laying on the ground, looking at the sun, she put her head over him, blocking out the sun. He had a rock levitating from his wand. Haley looked up, and she saw the birds. "You weren't going to throw the rocks at the birds, were you?" she asked him. She put her hands on her hips, and gave him an evil glare. She didn't move until the boy spoke again.

He felt a figure beside him, and a shadow block the sun from his eyes. Sitting up, he recognised the girl talking to him. His face crinkled as he tried to remember who she was. When he realised she wasn't happy about the whole birds thing, his face settled into a sheepish smile. "What's the correct answer?" he asked her, laughing. She was pretty, he wouldn't doubt that. But then again, a lot of girls were. He patted the spot next to him, motioning for her to sit down. "So, what's a pretty girl like you doing out here on your own?" He wondered. He knew where he knew her now, she was a Gryffindor, and he had talked to her a few times. He was sure he had.

She raised her eyebrow at the boy. Laughing, she replied, "Well, let's see. The right answer would be, 'No, I'm not!' But, I'm just too good, and I can tell that you were going to throw them at the bird! And, I'm a sixteen year old girl, with nothing better to do. I think this is probably the best place to be at the moment." She knew that he didn't know her name. She had never exactly, well, given him her name. They had a few chats in the hall every now and again, but they never full on had a conversation. She laid her head back a bit, looking at the sky. Nothing exciting. The sky was cloudless, and the sun was right on her. This made it really hot outside, even though it was autumn. She was wearing a white camisole, and some shorts, with her favorite flip-flops resting on her feet.

He laughed at her answer, smiling at her. He rolled over onto his side, so he was facing her. "Well of course it's the best place to be." He winked at her. She may be older than him, but that wouldn't stop him flirting. It was his nature. "I'm here, ain't I?" he let out a slow chuckle. He hadn't used that one in about two years.
"So, beautiful, have a name?" ha asked, sitting up on his elbow, glancing her over. Her white, shirt, ish, thing, showed off her body. What? Did you expect him to know every type of female shirt? He was a guy!
He wanted to move, do something. Sitting here was soo boring!! His jeans were begging to feel really warm, so he wanted to go inside. But he didn't want to, if that made any sense.

(( btw, i made a mistake. she's really sixth year, with them. i accidently put seventh DX sorry! ))
She looked at him and smiled, laughing a little. She knew he had a reputation of being a flirt, but she didn't know he was a really big flirt! "My name's Haley. Haley Patennette," she said. She sat cross legged on the ground. She didn't feel like moving, but she felt like doing something. The boringness of sitting there was starting to get to her, and well, she hated it. She wasn't the girl that you sat down, and expected her not to entertain herself. She had a really short intention span.
Her secret lied just below her shirt. The bruises from her father. Well, the person she shared blood with. She didn't consider him her father. He had beaten her as long as she could remember, and well, even more now that her mother was dead. She just sighed at the thought, not even noticing that it was audible, and closed her eyes for a second, trying to get rid of the memories.

He heard her laugh.. It was cute. "A-a-are you, laughing at me!" he gasped, placing his hand on his chest, and falling back dramatically.
"Haley, Nice name. Sirius, Sirius Black, at your service ma'am." He nodded his head at her, grinning. She seemed really nice. He's like to get to know her, she could be a good friend. He heard her sigh, and frowned. had he said something? What had he done? "Are you okay?" he asked he quietly, leaning across to see if she was upset. She looked so peaceful, eyes closed. Anyone would have thought she was asleep. But the uneven rise and fall of her chest showed him that she was awake. He could tell easily, having mastered the art, when Prongs was pretending to sleep

She opened her eyes when he had spoken. "Yeah, I'm fine," she said smiling. She stopped thinking about the life she left behind, and snapped back to reality. "So, mister Black, tell me something about yourself!" she said, raising her arms up enthusiastically. She really didn't want to talking about her, since that's rude, and well, she wanted to get to know Sirius.

Her eyes popped open, and Sirius nearly had twins, the way he shot into the air. "Jesus woman, are you trying to give ma a heart attack?" he asked, hand on his chest. She had frightened the life out of him. He leaned back down onto his arms, watching her carefully. "Me? Well, I could say that I was exceedingly gorgeous, have an amazing sense of humour, and I'm disgustingly lovable, but that would just be big headed now wouldn't it?" He laughed, a twinkle in his eye.
"I would much prefer to learn about this beautiful young lady in front of her." He was being completely serious, she was really pretty. He was still observing her, watching her every movement.

Haley thought about whether or not she should tell Sirius her deep secret. But just meeting the boy, she decided not to. The confused thoughts going on in her head were displayed on her face, though they were suddenly replaced by a smile. The girl finally answered, "I'm not really that interesting. I don't have a lot to say about myself." That's really how she thought of herself too. Besides the fact of her father. She layed on the ground, her stomach on the ground. It hurt, but she could bare the pain to be in a more comfortable position.

He watched the emotions fly across her face, amazed by the way there seemed to be so many on this unique beauty. He was leaning on his hand watching her. If anyone had come over, this would look very creep, but to him, he was just being curious.
"Not that interesting?" he asked, disbelief tinged his voice, as he stared, wide eye ate Haley. How could she think that? He wanted to know so much more about her. "Come one. Hobbies? Favourite colour? Books? Subjects? There must be something to know about you!" He rolled onto his back, staring directly at the sun. So what if it killed his eyes? It was fun.

She shrugged at the boy. "I'm really not that interesting. Believe me. I'm more of a disaster!" She thought back of all the times she fell down the stairs, or just plain fell. She knew that she was an emergency waiting to happen. She hated the way her legs hated her, but she ended up having to deal with her clumsiness anyway. She decided not to tell him about her clumsiness right now. Since, well, she might do something that reflect her inner klutz sometime soon.

He scoffed at her comment, still staring at the sun. "You can't be disaster. It's impossible." He told her, truth dripping from his words. "You're to beautiful, and to nice, to be a disaster." The tone of sincerity shocked him. He wasn't just flirting now. Well, he was, but he meant every word of it. She was gorgeous, and by the way she sat, and spoke about herself, he could tell that she didn't know. He wasn't just trying to get into some girls pants. He wanted a friendship, a close friendship with a girl. Maybe a relationship, because he liked her. But he would like to have a steady friendship first. He had grown up a bit. not to much, he was still himself, but he realised that he needed to find a steady relationship, and some close friends, bar Remus and James.

She sighed, not believing that he felt that way. "Okay," she said, "Whatever you say." She probably wasn't going to feel very well about herself since her past. She sighed again. "You do know I fall down the stairs..right?" she said, proving her disaster theory. She smiled at him, hoping he'd understand why she was a disaster, in a normal person's view anyway.

Sighing, he scowled at her unwillingness to believe him. It seemed like she wanted to be a disaster, but he didn't. She seems like a nice girl, and he wanted to get to know her.
"You fall down stairs? I fell out of a third floor window once" he grinned at the memory. it wasn't his fault! But it hurt like a bitch afterwards. Luckily, there were no broken bones, only a dislocated knee cap. And that was fixed in an hour or to."Falling over things doesn't prove anything. You're most likely less of disaster, than I am a girl." Rubbing his eyes, he turned to face her, not noticing how close rolling over had took him to her. He shuffled a little further away, not wanting to make her feel uncomfortable.
