She huffed, stomping her feet as she walked with James, through the large black gates. You weren't afraid of getting caught now, everyone was at lunch, and if they did see you in the courtyard, you could tell them that you woke up, took a walk, and met James.
"I WANT ONE!" she shouted, acting like a little kid for the fun of it, and plopped herself down on a bench, with the utmost disregard for etiquette.
"I never fully trust someone, unless they can prove that they trust me with almost everything. If someone can't fully trust me, then I refuse to trust them"
She looked at him, with a mild, sarcastic humour painted in her eyes and across her face. Not need to cover her emotions her ass.
"I don't need people telling me to cheer up, or stop being so emo. Because if I didn't use a mask, and act out my days like a character, that's what they'll say."
She stared at him, looking deep in his eyes. There was something there, something that she couldn't understand, hidden in those hazel orbs.

James laughed lightly, she was amusing.
"You can borrow mine, if you like?" He asked, he trusted her so it wasn't a problem. He walked over to where she was sat, and sat next to her, watching her, a small smile perched on his lips.
"Trust is a two way thing, I suppose." He said, shrugging, "People need to show they can be trusted before you trust them,"
He looked at her, a small frown on his face,
"Well, maybe we shouldn't tell you to cheer up, but we should just cheer you up." He smiled slightly, "It's your choice, though."
He stared back at her, midly amused still. Her eyes were...enchanting.

She laughed, grinning and clapping her hands together. She quickly hugged him, bouncing up and down. "I get a cloak, I get a cloak," She chanted, still grinning madly. He had sat next to her, and was watching her intently. She felt a shiver run down her spine, and a wierd feeling in her stomach. What was happening? "Well if it help, I trust you. I dunno why yet. But give me time and I will figure it out." She told him, determined.
She laughed, "Cheering me up may be hard mate. Your in for a bumpy ride."
She leaned on his shoulder, and closed her eyes, breathing in the scent of spring. She loved this season.

James laughed, watching her, she was funny. He returned her quick hug, and nodded,
"Yup. You get a cloak!" He said, smiling. "And I trust you. I'm not sure why either, you just seem like the type of person I can trust."
James shrugged lightly,
"Bumpy rides make it all the more fun," he said. He wrapped his arm around her when she leaned her head on his shoulder. He liked these type of silences.

All conversation seemed to stop, when he wrapped his arms around her, and she realised what was wrong. She liked him. A lot. She stiffened in his arms, but then slowly relaxed, and leaning her weight on him. Not that she was heavy.
She moved her head, still on his shoulder to look up at him. She simply looked at him. Observing every little feature. She liked being here, in the courtyard with him. Or maybe it wasn't the courtyard, but the fact that he was here. Suddenly she was happy, but so close to crying at the same time. She was so close, yet so far from having him. Her shoulders seemed to slump slightly, but she still stared at him.

James looked back at her, and smiled slightly. He liked being sat like this. His arm tightened around her ever so slightly when she leaned her weight on him, and pulled her slightly closer.
He felt...odd. He didn't really know this feeling, not well. He'd felt it but once before. He felt like it was just the two of them...that time wasn't even there at the moment.

She decided to go for it. She had to show how she felt, or it would pile up. She wasn't the sort of girl to pretend not lo like someone. And she really liked James. A lot.
"Em, Er, I, James?" she asked him, leaning slightly closer to his face. She had to show him that she wasn't playing this time, and that she really liked him. But how? She mulled it over in her head as she waited for his reply.

James sighed softly, tearing his eyes away from her and looking out to the surrondings. He was at a crossroads. What did he do? He wanted to tell her he liked her, but she'd said before that she didn't like him in that way. He was confused, and he didn't like being confused over these sort of things. He wanted to say something, he just didn't know how.
James looked back at her when she spoke, his eyes finding their way to hers. He watched her,
"Yes?" He asked, his own head moving closer to hers, as if he was to whisper something. He, however, wasn't. She seemed like she didn't know what she wanted to say, and James was made even more curious. Could what ever she wanted to tell him, be what he wanted to hear? He doubted it, but he couldn't help but hope it was. He continued to watch her, as he waited for her reply, and it was in that short space that time seemed like it was on a stand still. It was going in slow motion, and he felt he'd never get to hear what she wanted to say.
He smiled slightly, just thinking if she was to say she liked him. That'd be...so unreal, but so brilliant at the same time. Sure, he was supposed to like Lily, but he figured, she'd never shown interest, it was time to move on and it wasn't often James found someone he liked, someone he felt he could connect with. Someone he actually wanted to be with. He just had to hope hard enough, and maybe - just maybe - she'd like him too.
[[Long enough for you?]]

When he sighed, a shiver ran through her body, for the second time in five minutes. He was upset. She couldn't stand that. When people were upset. especially James. Why was she feeling this? An hour ago the only feeling towards him was friendship, but now everything ha changed. Or maybe she did feel like this earlier, but didn't want to believe it.
When he moved his face closer to hers, she lost her nerve. There was barley two inches between them now. But what if he didn't like her that way? What is she made a fool of herself. Maybe she should let him make the first move, if he liked her.
She changed her question, asking if he was okay. "What's wrong?"

James shifted slightly, next to Riley, and ran his free hand through his hair. He really hated being this confused. It wasn't good for his brain. It just made it hurt. He looked at her again, and shook his head slightly,
"Nothing's wrong," he told her, "I'm just a little confused." He had a feeling that her question wasn't the one she was originally going to ask, "Are you sure that's what you wanted to ask?" He decided, he'd tell her. The worst she could really do is slap him, say no and decide she didn't want to be his friend anymore..but that was taking it to the extremes.

"No, It's not what I was going to ask." She told him, directly. She wasn't going to tell him. No. She couldn't do that, but she would hint. If he didn't get it, then maybe she would do something.
"I really like this guy, but I don't know if he likes me." She stuttered it out, hoping that he wouldn't brush her off. "What do I do?" she cried, her smile drooping, "What if he doesn't like me?!!" She was getting panicked, thinking these things. Calm girl, calm down, she thought, trying to stop herself from getting worked up over nothing. Or was it, he, everything?

James listened to her, nibbling his lip lightly. He really wanted her to like him, but...if she didn't...well, to James, rejection didn't hurt as much anymore, but it did still sting. He watched her, his eyes searching her face for a sign. Anything. Sometime to give him the courage he needed to ask her. To tell her.
"Ask him." James said simply, "any guy would be stupid not to like you. What's unlikeable about you?" He was serious. Any guiy that didn't like her couldn't be interested in women at all.
"Do you think he likes you?" James asked in hushed tones, his face still close to hers.

She sighed, listening to his answer. she twirled her fingers in her hair, a nervous habit she had picked up. And an annoying one. "I don't know!" She told him, debating with herself whether to add the next part or not. She decided what did she have to lose? "Does he?" She asked, moving her head to the side, in a questioning manner. Her head was a clouded, a strange desire to feel him near her creeping over her body. She needed him to love her. More than she had ever needed anyone else. She trusted him with everything, but now, she was giving him the most vital, and valuable part of her. The past she would only get back in pieces, either now, or in a week or a month or a year. But she wanted to take the risk, to feel love by him. The future was unimportant right now.

James's hand rubbed Riley's arm lightly, as he watched her, she looked nervous. He tilted his head slightly, just watching her. His arm once more tightened around her, and he looked her dead in the eyes when she spoke,
"I believe he does," James answered slowly, unbelievingly. This was just awesome! It was better than awesome, it was unreal. Incredible. Fantastic. He was so happy, if he didn't have his arm around her, he'd happy dance/

A grin spread across her face as she heard his answer. He liked her as well! A flung her arms around him, still grinning, and started to giggle. She was so happy. She buried her head in his neck, breathing in his unique scent. The happiness and relief was unbelievable. But he didn't ask her out. So what were they? "What does that make us?" She asked him, lifting he head from his neck to speak, before placing it back. He liked her. HE LIKED HER! She knew that, as soon as she got some alone time, she would be clapping her hands, jumping up and down, singing. But she was still nervous. What would he say? Were they dating, or were they just friends still? She didn't want that. She wanted to be with him. She wanted to be able to tell people that she was in a relationship, with this awesome guy, who she adored.
